Weekend Boxing/MMA Schedule and Random Rants

Larry Lump here, dug out from the snow, taking the day off. Chillin like a Villain.

Any of you guys see ESPN E:60 show on Tuesday night? They had a piece on Kimbo Slice. It was pretty interesting. The guy is actually shy as hell. It also mentioned he signed a long term deal with EliteXC (owned by Showtime). That kind of sucks, if he rattles off another 2-3 wins he needs to get over to the UFC. How about a Bob Sapp vs. Kimbo Slice fight? That would be interesting. Still don't know who Kimbo Slice is? Guess you never heard of YouTube either. Check him out here.
On Wednesday night the WEC had a live event on the VS. network. There are some stars emerging from that league which has the same owners as the UFC. I was under the impression that the WEC was a minor league for the UFC, but that does not seem to be the case anymore. It's getting to the point that it is similar to how the WWE has the RAW Roster of talent and the Smackdown talent. I hope they don't go this route because then there will be two champs and then there will be unification bouts, and it will start to turn into the same mess as boxing., 5-6 world champions. We don't need that.
Yahoo just put out their current top 10 pound for pound boxing list. What do you think about their picks:

Not too many stand out fights this weekend but there are a lot as you can see from below. Anyone get HDNET? My cable company, Cablevision does not get it. Wish they did because I wanted to see Frank Trigg fight.

HBO will also re-air the Mayweather vs. Hatton fight on Saturday night at 10:15. There has been a lot of back and forth about how this fight was scored. Harold Lederman had it VERY close while the ringside judges had it as a Mayweather blow out. Your boy Larry Lump will score it and settle it once and for all.

Have a great weekend Fight Fans!

The Moose goes to 8-0:

"In his first title defense, highly regarded WBC featherweight champion Jorge "El NiƱo de Oro" Linares (25-0, 16 KOs) scored a spectacular eighth round knockout of mandatory challenger Gamaliel "El Platano" Diaz (22-7-2, 9 KOs). Linares absorbed a big right hand from the aggressive Diaz in round one, but began to show his class as the fight unfolded. A crushing Linares right uppercut floored Diaz in round four. The game Diaz continued to swarm, but Linares knocked Diaz out cold with a huge right hand in round eight. Time was 2:02"

My subscribers like Patek Patel, CArlos Hernandez, Vladimir Pollak, Singh, Abdul Fakim, Wee Willie Simms & Big Tony Matterasse cleaned up. Little Tony Turd in Fiji placed a $40FD parlay on round, KO & time unconscious & pulled in 30K.

This was an easy one. The Bannana Man was sippin' mojitos two at a time pre-fight at the Marriott with his low-life crew after previously partying with senoritas at the clubs on Friday night. He got lucky early with a big punch, but when Carmelita winked at him and threw him a belated kiss, his focus was gone.
The Moose Mens follow these bums for up to 96 hours pre-fight. We know where they breath, what they eat, and the color of their dumps Lumps. Stool samples always pick the winner!
