Another Exotic Pick from Mr. Moose

Here you go...More Bowl-licious picks from the Moose:

Moose Tracks & Droppings:
Back on the scene with the exotic machine....
The Filipino Killer eats up the malnutrition Strawweight L'Africane Nkosinathi Joyi. Florante Condes is a big-time puncher for a midget and is loaded with power. He's on a 9-0 streak, albeit against dem bums, but there is no way a #6 ranked straw-berry pulls this one off.
Because these guys have no weight, this could go 8-9 rounds so there is a great chance for aerial body fluids here. Condes on top so play:
- A mixture of snot & saliva drippings from the 3rd round on
- A few gas emissions as a result of Killer's stomach bombs (must be heard only by the first row)
- 2cm piece of upper jaw bone being emitted before the end.
Not a big-time play here but certainly enough to fill up the tank for a few years.

MMA Goes Primetime!! Weekend Fight Schedule

What up What Up Little Fighters?? This weekend boxing takes a back seat to the MMA. We have two exciting cards (for different reasons) happening.

First off on Saturday night, 9pm EST on CBS, MMA goes mainstream when EliteXC shows the first ever card on network TV. And of course the big attraction is the main event which pits James Thompson against Kimbo Slice. This is Kimbo's most legit challenge yet however Mr. Thompson does have a glass jaw so I am sure another Kimbo KO is in the making.
Actually since I missed the Classic Lump this week I will throw you one right now starring James Thomspon and Butterbean:

OK so EliteXC is getting the fanfare because they are the first on network TV (take that Dana White) however the better dukes are on Sunday night when the WEC is on Versus. Jens Pulver against the pretty boy Urijah Faber. This one is going to be fast and furious kiddies so don't blink!

OK Larry Lump is out here is the weekend fight schedule for ya. Peace and Corn Grease!

Weekend Boxing Results-Paulie Malignaggi looked HAIRrible

Wake me up please. Larry is shot after a great memorial day weekend. As for the fights, well they were not so hot, at least when it came to boxing. Both Ricky Hatton and Paulie Malignaggi earned victories by decision, but no one looked very impressive. Paulie looked like a complete buffoon actually. The chooch comes out wearing hair extensions. I think he was going for the Italian/Brooklyn/Jamaican look. Anyways his pony tail comes undone half way through the first round and he can't see because his hair is in his face, it actually cost him the round. His corner then uses the glove tape to try and hold it down. That lasts for about 4-5 rounds and then it comes out again and the ref has to call time out. Then, which must be a first in boxing, he gets a full blown haircut in between rounds! Unreal!

Hatton and Malignaggi have already secured a fight date for this November. If they try to put this one on PPV the promoters are going to seriously be disappointed. Hatton by decision in an ugly boring fight...I'm already calling that one.

Here are your weekend fight results:

BOXING:
MANCHESTER, England (AP)—Ricky Hatton, Britain, outpointed Juan Lazcano, Mexico, 12, to retain his IBO light welterweight title; Paulie Malignaggi, Brooklyn, N.Y., outpointed Lovemore N’Dou, Australia, 12, to retain his IBF junior welterweight title; Craig Watson, Britain, outpointed Matthew Hatton, Britain, 12, to win the Commonwealth welterweight title.
NEWCASTLE, Australia (AP)—Sirimongkol Singwancha, Thailand, stopped Chad Bennett, Australia, 1, to retain his PABA light welterweight title.

Weekend Fight Schedule-Ricky Hatton is back-Tito Ortiz is Out-Kimbo Slice countdown has begun

What UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLZ?
How y'all livin' today? Beautiful 70 degree day in the northeast and your Boy Larry Lump got a half day at his income generating job before the long Memorial Lump Weekend.
OK so some decent action this weekend in the fight game.
First thing to yap about is Ricky Hatton is back in his first fight since losing to Floyd Mayweather. Even better is that it's being shown on basic cable, the Vs. Network. Ricky should take care of business in front of his hometown, but who does he fight next? Unfortunately it's probably going to be Paulie Malingnaggi who is fighting on the under card. Paulie has zero power so the excitement factor is just not there for me.
In regards to MMA, UFC 84 Ill Will (guess they are running out of tag lines) takes place Saturday night. This will be the last UFC fight for Tito Ortiz who's well documented battle with UFC president Dana White has reached the point of no return. Tito has been fading as a fighter (but he does get to tap Jenna Jamison on a daily basis) so it's no real loss for the UFC.
So only about a week left until Kimbo Slice makes his prime time debut on CBS. He is fighting another cupcake but of course everyone is going to watch and see what the hype is all about. Is Kimbo the Mike Tyson of the new millennium? Seems that way so far.

Here is your weekend schedule. Enjoy:
Boxing

SATURDAY - at Newcastle, Australia - 11 rounds, light welterweights: Sirimongkol Singwancha (58-2, 33 KOs)
vs. Chad Bennett (21-2-3, 14 KOs).
SATURDAY - at Hannover, Germany - 12 rounds, cruiserweights: Dariusz Michalczewski (48-2, 28 KOs)

Classic Lump Wednesday-Wednesday Night Fights

Oh man this one is a REAL Double Knockout, both these guys took almost 5 minutes to get off the canvas. Special thanks to BUMPnLUMP subscriber Richie Cakes for finding this gem.
Also ESPN2 has a little mid week boxing treat tonight: 10 rounds, lightweights: Stevie Johnston (42-5-1, 18 KOs) vs. Edner Cherry (23-5-2, 11 KOs); 8 rounds, super featherweights: Johnnie Edwards (13-2-1, 7 KOs) vs. Freddie Norwood (42-2-1, 23 KOs).
Maybe Moose has a mid week "exotic" for ya since the fight he picked this past weekend never happened.

Moose got a "mainstream" pick, Chris Byrd loses real bad

First off Chris Byrd looked horrible last night and got KO'ed in the 9th. He was slow, weak, and useless. Bottom line is he took off way to much weight. So he was getting blasted as a heavyweight and now as a light heavyweight, it's time to hang up the gloves.

OK so Moose stopped by and gave me a pick for tonight. Here ya go:

Moose goes out on a limb. Hope it doesn't break!
NO exotics this week so the Moose goes with society. Searched far & wide for bums & washed ups but with slim pickens of the cards, I'll go with a Mexican brawl:
Ulises Solisi of Mexico, a 26 year old bomber will defeat the Philippino Glenn Donaire, who can't punch but racks up wins anyway.
Reason for the Solisi win?
- He's a knock-out artist
- He's won at MSG
- Hometown favorite
Donaire fight a lot in the States, but normally at low-level venues. He lost his big shot at the MGM Grand in Vegas.
So, I go with "class"....Solisi for # 25.

Weekend Boxing Schedule-Chris Byrd is a Skinny Minny

ANOTHER rainy crappy Friday in the LumpMeg State. The only fight on this weekends schedule that sparks my Bumpiosity is the Chris Byrd vs. Shaun George fight. The Byrd man as you recall was the slick heavyweight champ for a while before Klitschko destroyed him a few times. Byrd was never a big heavyweight and really had no power but no one wanted to fight him because he was quick, had a great jab, and excellent defense. He wasn't going to knock anyone out and his fights were boring to watch but he made you look bad (which is why he rarely got and big paydays). So now the cat, I mean the Byrd, is going down TWO weight classes to the highly competitive Light Heavyweight division. I mean you got Hopkins, Jones Jr., and Antonio Tarver to deal with. Before I make any judgments I will let Chris get one fight under his belt to see how he looks. This just might be the right division for the Byrd Man to Soar...Larry Lump is one witty ass MO-F...shut ya mouth....

Classic Lump Wednesday on Thursday-The Ultimate Fighter Snore Fest

Sorry that your boy has been MIA. Too much stuff going on in my world these days. Tomorrow I will come 'atcha with some rants and raves. Enjoy this wacky Lump that I dug up for ya.
On another note does anyone still watch the Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV? I DVR this show every week and man it blows. It is such a cut n paste basic reality show. Show a scene from the house where the guys are talking trash or getting drunk, show the fighters select the next fight, watch each team train, then show the fight. Seven seasons of the same ol crapola.

Anyways enjoy this wacky ass lump!

Weekend Boxing Schedule-Larry got nada

I really got nada for you today. My posts are not really about bringing you boxing news. There are plenty of sites out there with boxing news, plus I have links and the news ticker to keep ya up to date. So I'm only gonna yap when Larry got somethin to say. Samuel Peter will be meeting a Klitschko in October, unfortunately it's the wrong one. He is going to be fighting Vitali who has not fought since 2004. Must be nice to be out of the fight game for almost four years and then get a title shot your first fight back. Puts a lot of credibility into the sport. What do the top 10 "ranked" heavyweights have to say about that one? Well I guess L3 had to to get something off his chest after all.

Here is your weekend boxing schedule:
TODAY - at Vigo, Spain - 12 rounds, flyweights: Omar Andres Narvaez (26-0-2, 16 KOs) vs. Ivan Pozo (28-4-1, 18 KOs).
TODAY - at Atlantic City (ESPN2) - 12 rounds, junior welterweights: Mike Arnaoutis (18-2-2, 9 KOs) vs. Lanardo Tyner (19-0, 11 KOs); 10 rounds, light heavyweights: Elvir Muriqi (35-4, 22 KOs) vs. Omar Sheika (27-8, 13 KO's); 8 rounds, heavyweights: Devin Vargas (15-0, 6 KOs) vs. Dave Brunelli (8-3, 3 KOs).
TODAY - at Albuquerque, New Mexico (Telefutura) -10 rounds, welterweights: Mike Alvarado (20-0, 13 KOs)
vs. Michel Rosales (16-1, 14 KOs); 10 rounds, welterweights: Ray Sanchez (20-2, 15 KOs) vs. Patrick Thompson (13-12-1, 5 KOs).
SATURDAY - at Nottingham, England (Showtime) -12 rounds, WBC junior welterweight title: Junior Witter
(36-1-2, 21 KOs) vs. Timothy Bradley Jr. (21-0, 11 KOs);10 rounds, super middleweights: Carl Froch (22-0, 18 KOs) vs. Albert Rybacki (15-0, 8 KOs); 10 rounds, welterweights: Adnan Amar (21-1, 6 KOs) vs. Mark Lloyd
(10-0, 2 KOs); 10 rounds, lightweights: John Murray (23-0, 12 KOs) vs. TBD.

Your Boy Lx3 is swamped today but my main man Southpaw Sammy was yearning for a good Lump Down. I think you will be pleased with this weeks random selection.

De La Hoya vs. Steve Forbes Final Thoughts-Weekend Fight Recap

OK I didn't do enough homework, should of known Steve Forbes would not go down. That was really the only surprise last night. Oscar easily took care of business in his unanimous decision. I actually gave him every round 120-108 (one of the judges gave the same score as well). So is Oscar ready for the Mayweather rematch? Tough call on that one. First of all the first fight wasn't even that entertaining so Larry Lump Lump is not very pump pumped for the rematch. Oscar's jab did look pretty good, but the only way he is going to beat Floyd is if he keeps using it throughout the whole fight and not just the first 6-7 rounds. I still find it hard to believe De La Hoya is going to get two more fights in this year. Especially if he loses to Floyd, who does he fight next, and why??

Here is the rest of the weekend boxing results:
CARSON, Calif. (AP)—Oscar De La Hoya, Los Angeles, outpointed Steve Forbes, Las Vegas, 12, junior middleweights; Victor Ortiz, Oxnard, Calif., stopped Dairo Esalas, Comombia, 5, junior welterweights.
BADEN-WURTTEMBURG, Germany (AP)—Firat Arslan, Germany, outpointed Darnell Wilson, Takoma Park, Md., 12, to retain his WBA cruiserweight title; Alexander Dimitrenko, Ukraine, stopped Derric Rossy, Puerto Rico, 5, to retain his WBO Intercontinental heavyweight title.
MONTREAL (AP)—Antonin Decarie, Canada, outpointed Brian Camechis, Glouster, Ohio, 12, to win the vacant WBO NABO welterweight title.
BOUCHES-DU-RHONE, France (AP)—Jean Marc Monrose, France, stopped Johny Jensen, Denmark, 1, to win the European cruiserweight title.
CEBU CITY, Philippines (AP)—Bert Batawang, Philippines, stopped Samransak Singmanassak, Thailand, 4, to win the vacant WBO Oriental light flyweight title.

De Lay Hoya vs. Steve Forbes Prediction-Catching up with Iron Mike Tyson-Weekend Boxing Schedule

Oscar De La Hoya's 3 fight farewell tour kicks off tomorrow night in Carson California where he will fight Steve Forbes, another Contender Contestant being fed to the wolves. Listen, anything can happen, just ask Buster Douglas, but this isn't going to be one of those times my friends. Oscar by KO. The "exotic", as Moose would say, is that he does it in under 6 rounds.

Anyone watch E:60 on ESPN Tuesday night? They had a good interview with Iron Mike who is chilling in his million dollar home out in Vegas of all places. This guys owes the government millions of dollars and he still has a dope crib, phat rides, and still runs around with an entourage. The sad part though is he really looks like a defeated man who is fighting demons every day. But man when they showed clips of Mike back in the day it really reminded me what a force he was. That body shot to uppercut combo took out so many fighters, classic stuff. He also said there is no way in hell he is getting back in the ring with Holyfield of anyone else, he is done. Mike was saying that he gets up to 250K just to shake hands and make appearances now and then, not a bad gig. The fact that he is probably still the most popular heavyweight for whatever reasons good or bad shows how weak the heavyweight division is right now.
Here is part of the interview if you missed it:

And last but not least here is your weekend boxing schedule:
TODAY, May 2 - at Santa Ynez, California (Showtime) - 10 rounds, super middleweights: Andre Dirrell (14-0, 9 KOs) vs. Anthony Hanshaw (21-1-1, 14 KOs); 8 rounds, lightweights: Antonio DeMarco (17-1-1, 12 KOs) vs. Juan Castaneda (12-0, 9 KOs).
SATURDAY, May 3 - at Edinburgh, Scotland - 12 rounds, junior lightweights: Joan Guzman (28-0, 17 KOs)
vs. Alex Arthur (26-1, 19 KOs).
SATURDAY, May 3 - at Stuttgart, Germany - 12 rounds, WBA cruiserweight title: Firat Arslan (28-3, 18 KOs)
vs. Darnell Wilson (22-6-3, 19 KOs).
SATURDAY, May 3 - at Carson, California (HBO) -12 rounds, welterweights: Oscar De La Hoya (38-5, 30 KOs) vs. Steve Forbes (33-5, 9 KOs); 10 rounds, junior welterweights: Victor Ortiz (20-1-1, 15 KOs) vs. Dario Esalas (31-12, 25 KOs).
SATURDAY, May 3 - at Mexico - 12 rounds, junior bantamweights: Fernando Montiel (36-2-1, 27 KOs) vs. Luis Maldonado (37-2-1, 28 KOs).

Classic Lump Wednesday-The Mayweather Family Soap Opera continues..

Happy Lump Day from your Boy L3!
So as we all wait in "anticipation" for this weekends BIG De La Hoya fight (you smellin the sarcasm here?), I thought we would give you one of Oscar's better moments. I mean it's only fair since last weeks Classic Lump had him on the receiving end of a brutal Hopkins liver shot.
Before we get to that, lets talk about the real drama taking place during this weekends fight, the Mayweather brothers. These guys make the Adam's Family look normal. OK try and follow me here. Floyd Mayweather Sr. was the trainer for both his son and Oscar. He had to make a decision to pick a fighter when they both fought and he picked Oscar. Oscar felt uncomfortable with using his opponents dad as a trainer (small conflict of interest don't you think) so he went with Freddy Roach. So Floyd Sr. goes back to his son's corner and co-trains him with his brother Roger Mayweather. Floyd Sr & Jr. have a falling out and Sr. gets bumped from the training camp. So Floyd Sr. sits in the stands for the Mayweather/De La Hoya fight and roots for Oscar.
With me so far?
So now Oscar De La Hoya is fighting Steve Forbes this weekend. Floyd Sr. is back in the corner of Oscar, and Steve Forbes trainer is Roger Mayweather who has trained him in the past, but......
Floyd Jr. does not like the fact that Roger is training Steve Forbes, because if Steve wins it is going to ruin a huge payday for Floyd in the fall when he is supposed to meet Oscar for a rematch. Basically if Uncle Roger's fighter wins, Floyd can't feed his kids.
Sooo, Roger agrees to step down but Forbes still wants a Mayweather as a trainer so he hires the THIRD brother Jeff Mayweather, who is the more quiet laid back one of the group. As sand falls through the hour glass these are the wacky days of our lives...

OK so back to the Classic Lump, De La Hoya vs. Ricardo Mayorga. Mayorga talked so much smack before this fight. No one in De La Hoya's family was safe from his wrath. Trying to get into Oscar's head did not work though as you can see from the following clip.

Weekend Boxing Results

Monday's blow don't they? Especially when its almost May but you wake up to a 47 degree miserable rainy day. Wahh!
OK tantrum done. I really don't have much to say today. I watched the HBO show Countdown to De Lay Hoya Forbes. I will yap more about this fight on Friday but HBO is trying to make a big fight out of nothing. This one is gonna be a bust.

Weekend Boxing Schedule-Mike Tyson Making Comeback??

Nahh just playing, Mike ain't doing squat. But next Tuesday at 7pm (EST) on ESPN they are catching up with the former champ, seems like from the previews that Mikey T still got major issues. Not too pumped up for this weekend's schedule however Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is fighting. This kid is good, real good. I hope he puts on a few more pounds and steps up to fight a big name middleweight. The kid is 35-0-1, I think it's time to go for a title. Anyways have a lumpy weekend and keep your ass off da canvas!

Classic Lump Wednesday-Tribute to a Legend who should hang up the gloves

Beautiful day in sunny CT. So this week's classic lump is in tribute to Bernard Hopkins. The man has nothing left to prove, he was a middleweight champ for 10 friggin years! Sadly he probably won't shut it down, but hopefully his does. Let's be honest, he might even win a few more but his fights are never going to be on PPV again, his style is just so not fan friendly. One punch, clinch, one punch, clinch, and he really does not knock anyone out.
However no one can argue about his boxing reign. Just check it out here for yourself.
Before I get to the video highlight I wanted to let you know about some great Amateur boxing coming up to Bridgeport, CT on May 9th, the USA Boxing Olympic Invitational. I saw some fights up there last year and Harbor Yard is a great place to see dukes.

OK so here we go. This punch doesn't look like much but it was a perfectly placed liver shot. Your mind wants to get up off the canvas but your legs have absolutely no interest. You can totally see the frustration in De La Hoya's eyes.

Weekend Wrap Up-Your Boy is Back

To all you cats who were bustin my chops when I started this blog about my picks....BITE ME.
Your boy has been En Fuego lately. Not only pickin the winners but picking the exact outcomes.
Between me and the Moose you guys should be getting paid in full if you follow our advice!
Let me tell you the first 6 rounds of that Calzaghe/Hopkins fight was a bitch to score but by the end of the fight Mighty Joe was the clear cut winner. You had Hopkins charge in with one big punch then clinch and you had Joe land 4-5 pitter patter combos. Hopkins scored a flash knockdown in the first but after that no one was really hurt. Listen, it wasn't a pretty win for Calzaghe but fights against Hopkins are never pretty. Looking forward to a Joe C. to fight a Pavlik or Jones Jr. next.

I missed the UFC event on Saturday night but I did snag the Georges St. Pierre/Matt Serra fight on YouTube the next morning. Boring grappling fight but St. Pierre controlled the whole fight. Here are the rest of the weekend fight results:

Cotto wins by TKO, another Contender get's destroyed, it's deja vu all over again

Well if you watched the Larry Lump/Moose interview on Friday you would of known that Cotto by TKO was a lock. The fight went EXACTLY as L Cubed Predicted. By the end of the 5th the ringside Doc had enough and stopped the fight. Cotto TKO in 5. Also, past BUMPnLUMP readers will also recall this post a while back: http://www.bumpnlump.com/2008/01/easy-call-for-larry-lumpthe-contender.html

So congrats Alfonso Gomez you have also made the list of Pretenders. Shall I refresh your memory on the results of fighters from the Contender TV showed when they stepped up to top 10 fighters?

1. Peter Manfredo Jr.-TKO'ed by Joe Calzaghe in 3.
2. Anthony Bosante-Lost by Unanimous decision to John Duddy
3. David Banks- Almost gets decapitated and lands in the second row after being KO'ed by Edison Miranda in the 3rd.
4. Alfonso Gomez-TKO'ed by Miguel Cotto in the 5th

Enough is enough already, these guys have not made it to the big time for a reason, they're not that good!

OK so the Moose Man had it a little harder this weekend. His boy Phlegm..oops I mean Glen Johnson fought pretty good even though he lost a 12 round decision to Chad Dawson. However the crowd was booing the result so it seems like some controversy took place. If you recall Da Moose said three bodily fluids would of been release by Johnson. It's very hard to confirm these facts because mainstream media tends to shy away from this kind of business, but I would not be surprised if Glen was able to keep his bowels under control.

Well, heading out to FLA tomorrow but I just needed to gloat before I hit the friendly skies. Have a good week my Lumpy Posse!!!

Classic Lump Wednesday

Another cold crappy day in the Tri-State Area. Spring ever gonna show around here? Larry Lump hates the cold! OK so check this lump out from a few years back. Brian Minto vs. Vinny Maddalone I. Minto was down in the first and Maddalone was up on all three score cards going into the 10th round. The slo mo gives a good view of "da shot". They had a rematch a year later and Vinny lost by TKO in the 7th. The Moose Man loved Vinny.

Weekend Fight Results-Ice Man disses Slice

Yawwwn, Larry Lump is one tired mofo...word to big bird. Not much to yap about today except I am looking forward to the Cotto-Gomez fight next weekend. Cotto beats the crap out of Gomez, calls out Mayweather after the fight, and they make this fight happen later this fall.
How do you think it's going to pan out? Voting is open on the right side of the page.
Who the hell wants to see another Hatton-Mayweather fight, crap, I don't even want to see another Mayweather-De La Hoya fight until Floyd fights Cotto first.
So "The Iceman" Chucky Liddell was dissin' Kimbo Slice pretty good, and you know what, Chuck is right in everything he says. I like watching Kimbo fight but the man has done nothing, nada, zilch, yet in the world of MMA. I'm not saying that one day he will, just like I still think Brock Lesnar has a future in MMA, but as of now, all he has fought is powder puffs. Check out the article here.

Sorry for the late post this weekend my Fellow Bump n' Lumpers. I was furiously working on my clothing line last night. The new store is now live at www.fligear.com.
Another quiet weekend on the fight scene. Next week things get a little more interesting with the Miguel Cotto vs. Alfonso Gomez fight. UFC Fight Night-Classic Lump Wednesday-Assorted Rants

Don't bust my chops. I know I didn't post on Monday. Besides the weekend results I had nothin' on my mind so I let it slide like a 6 pack of white castle burgers. I'm starting to tap out my Classic Lump database so if there are any oldies but goodies you want to see again, drop your boy Larry a line and I will dig them up. This week I found a highlight reel of Quinton Rampage Jackson. This guy is a real character, but he has the skills to back it up. He has a must see fight against Forrest Griffen coming up later this year.

Tonight UFC Fight Night 13 takes place on SpikeTv at 7pm. The headliner is Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon. After the fights the premier of Ultimate Fighter 7 takes place. Coaches this year are the above mentioned Jackson and Griffen. Should be a good season!

Anyone see the Mayweather "fight" at Wrestlemania? It was weak weak weak. There was more excitement when the fireworks show went out of control and landed into the crowd (that one was not planned). Luckily no one was injured.

Looks like the discussed Roy Jones Jr. vs. Anderson Silva boxing match ain't gonna happen. Big bad Dana White, President of the UFC, pulled ranked and said no way jose, don't even think about it. When some of the UFC superstar contracts start coming to an end you are going to see a mass exodus. UFC is not the only show in town these days, these fighters got options now.

Oh by the way I have been trying to snag a one on one interview with Da Moose for about two weeks now. That damn animal is evasive. I sneak up to him, Moose Munch in hand, and just as I am about to reach him he darts off, usually chasing fawns for a little Moose lovin (not a pretty sight). Don't worry though your boy L3 is still on the case!

Well that's it kids. Enjoy this weeks Classic Lump. You got love the body slam techniques of Rampage!

Don King Snore Fest-Mayweather at Wrestlemania-Weekend Fight Schedule

So I am sitting here watching the Corey Spinks Verno Philips fight on http://www.donkingtv.com/.

It was nice of Don to give this idea a shot, unfortunately the fight blows, and my ass hurts from sitting at the computer for so long. The crowd is now booing. What surprises me is there is 0 advertising going on. No web banners, no ads in between rounds, no links, nada. If Don is going to post these fights online he is missing out on some good ad revenue.

As for fights this weekend nothing got Larry Lump Lump too Pump Pumped, so no picks from me. The best pound for pound boxer in the world is on PPV this weekend though, at Wrestlemania. I wonder what Vince has up his sleeve for this one? It has the potential of being a huge bust, I just don't see Floyd taking ANY chances of getting an injury goofing around in the squared circle. Be sure to check youtube Monday morning to see what goes down.
That's it fools. Have a great weekend. L Cubed is out.

Edwin Valero to box in the USA-Classic Lump Wednesday

Relax, relax, Larry is back in full effect. No half ass post today. Before I get to the double Lump treat let me tell you a little something about one of the best knockout artists in boxing right now that you never heard of. His name is Edwin Valero, the current WBA Jr. Lightweight champ. 23-0 with 23 KO's. He had first round KO's in his first 12 fights. There's more to this story than meets the eye, Mr. Valero has been banned from boxing in the USA since 2004. Read the full article here.

Quick programming note. For you MMA fans the Versus Network has some WEC action on tonight:
WEC 33: Doug Marshall vs. Brian Stann and Paulo Filho vs. Chael Sonner, Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas
Tomorrow night Don King, the Internet Guru, is having a free online broadcast:
THURSDAY - at St. Louis (www.donkingnetwork.tv) - 12 rounds, IBF junior middleweight title: Cory Spinks (36-4, 11 KOs) vs. Verno Phillips (41-10-1, 21 KOs).

OK so shame on me for not posting this classic lump yet. I had a hard time deciding which video to use so I said screw it, we missed one last week so lets show both. The Gatti-Ward Trilogy is one of the best boxing battles in my lifetime. The first video is a highlight of all three fights, the second one is round 9 of the first fight which is just out of control. For all those living on another planet, Ward won the first one by decision, Gatti won the next two by decision.
Enjoy!!!!

Weekend Boxing Results

Happy Monday to all. If you celebrate it, hope you had a good Easter. Lump Man had a good one, a little hung over from night before, but didn't stop me from getting my eat on. Rumor on the street is that in the next week or so I should be able to snag an exclusive interview with Da Moose Man. The video will be posted on the site. Any of you cats see the Casamayor/Katsidis fight this weekend? Great back and forth battle with both guys going down in the fight. If you can, try to catch the replay on HBO. Not much more to report right now. I will drum up a good Classic Lump for Wednesday.

Moose Man got a good "Exotic" pick this week.

Moose's really are Man's best friend. The Moose Man carried me this week with some added content for today. Enjoy:

Looking for #19.

With Irish champ Matt Macklin going after another old Mexican on the downward spiral this weekend in "Erin-Go-Braless", while not a pushover, should return nice pounds to our subscribers. The opponent is old man Yory Boy (not a Russkie) Campas who has over 100 bouts to his credit. But three of losses have come in his last 6 fights. This guy still fights 3-4 times a year which probably gives him enough kern so he doesn't have to jump the border into El Paso.

Macklin has all time great Buddy McGirt as his trainer so I'm sure he will be prepared. Meanwhile, Old Boy has been lost in the fields of Ireland. Not a taco, waco, burrito or werm to be found, he's stuck with meals of cabbage, turnips & corned beef. He still has the runs, but the sniff is a bit different than Ole fast food.

Bet on the Boy to be queasy, greasy and at times uneasy. He will get hit and there will be cut issues. The exotic will contain diarrhea, mucous & a puke within 30 minutes before the ring entrance or 60 minutes after he leaves the ring. BANK ON IT! And don't sit in the first 4 rows if you are going. If you never encountered an old-fashioned cabbage windbreak, you certainly don't want it Saturday night!

Weekend Boxing Schedule-All quiet on the lumpy front

Ugh. Your boy L Cubed is all banged up. Long ass week in the NYC-YA. Slinging the sales and knocking back the Kettle Ones & Tonics. Damn G.
Your boy did keep his eye on the fight game over the past few days but to be honest wit ya nothing has gotten me too pumped up or pissed off so I am going to easy gently into this weekend. So all I got for ya is the weekend schedule..maybe the Moose Man or Willy Lump got something to add but Banged up Larry is Out!!
Boxing:

Pacquiao outpoints Marquez-Lump Man picks another winner-Weekend Boxing Results

OK so your boy L Cubed called this one exactly right, Pacquiao by decision, but I am man enough to admit that I actually scored this fight 114-113 Marquez. At the end of the day I thought he outboxed him. Yes Marquez was almost out in the 3rd and also got rocked in the 10th, but overall I think he countered better and landed more shots than Manny. Marquez was not the stronger man, but he was the more accurate. From the post fight banter it does not seem like we are going to see a trilogy because Pacquiao is talking about moving up in weight. It's too bad because the first fight was a draw and now the second was a controversial split decision. This is a perfect scenario for them to duke it out one more time.
So if you guys have been taking the Moose Man and Larry Lump Lump's advice these past few weeks you should be making some serious moolah. Since BUMPnLUMP went live LL Lump has gone 9(4)-4. The number in parentheses is how many I have called both the winner and outcome (KO or decision). Let's not forget I started off 0-3, so since then it's been a pretty good run. Out on business this week kids. So keep your hands up and your ass off the canvas. Catch ya on da flip side.

Weekend Boxing Results:
LAS VEGAS (AP)—Manny Pacquiao, Philippines, oupointed Juan Manuel Marquez, Mexico, 12, to win the WBC super featherweight title; Steven Luevano, LaPuente, Calif., outpointed Terdsak Jandaeng, Thailand, 12, to retain his WBO featherweight title; Abner Mares, Mexico, stopped Diosdado Gabi, Philippines, 2, to retain his WBO-NABO bantamweight titles; David Diaz, Chicago, outpointed Ramon Montano, Mexico, 10, lightweights.

Marquez/Pacquiao Prediction-Weekend Boxing Schedule-Who is Saoul Mamby?

Yo Lumpaputans this is my last post for a few days. I know it's hard to believe, but yes it's true, BUMPnLUMP is not a full time gig. No, it has not made me riches (actually hasn't made me $20 yet). So next week I am out on business. I might get a post in on Monday, but don't be too upset, we might be without a Classic Lump next week.
Anyways good fight schedule this weekend with the headliner being Manuel Marquez (48-3-1, 35 KOs) vs. Manny Pacquaio (45-3-2, 35 KOs) for the WBC super featherweight title. These are little cats with POWER. First one was a classic with Marquez rallying from being knocked down three times in the first round. Fight was scored a draw. I don't think Manny is going to make the same mistake twice. Pacquaio winner by decision.
Sakio Bika, the Contender Champ fights on the under card. He had the crazy slug fest against Jaidon Codrington. If his defense is as bad at it was that night he is going to get taken out.
Pete Manfredo, another Contender is on ESPN2 Friday night.
OK so I just learned about this guy Saoul Mamby from this AP story.
Check this out:
1st fight in 1969
Won WBC light welterweight title in 1980
Successfully defended the title 5 times
(Pretty good so far, right?)
Now the mess begins
After losing the title has gone 13-19 including an 8 fight losing streak
Lost his last fight to a guy who was 6-25 (why do you still box with a 6-25 record? But that's a question for another day).
OK here is the kicker, good Old (and I mean that literally) Saoul is still an active fighter and just fought last week. Have you done the math yet? He is 60 years old!
The embarrassing part is the 6-25 guy who just beat him is 32 years old and it took him 10 rounds to get the decision!
Part of me says WOW, a 60 year old guy just went 10 rounds with a 32 year old fighter. I sparred a few times in my life and my sessions were 3-4 two minute rounds and I was sucking wind big time. But the other part of me says, how the hell do they allow 60 year old guys and guys with 6-25 records even step foot in the ring? Makes you wonder why NY barred Holyfield a few years ago just cause he lost a couple of fights by decision. Any one else got another view about this nonsense? Let your boy Larry know. Have a great weekend peeps.

MMA Star wants to take a shot at Boxing-Classic Lump Wednesday

We always hear about boxers saying that they would dominate the sport of MMA. Some of them actually give it a shot (and fail miserably). So now there is a story going around that one of the pound for pound best MMA fighters in the world, Anderson Silva, wants to take on Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match. I wish these athletes would stop this silliness and just focus on their own sports. Roy Jones would get killed in a MMA match against Anderson Silva and Anderson Silva would get killed in a boxing match with Roy Jones. Case closed.
So I know I am late to the party but I saw the replay of that John Duddy/Walid Smichet fight from a few weeks ago. All I can say is that the best thing that happened to Duddy was that he got his face smashed and cut up. Because due to those cuts he can't fight Pavlik even if he wanted to. Pavlik would of killed him. I scored the fight 95-95 draw, he was lucky to get the decision. The guy takes way too many punches and is a bleeder. Exciting fighter, but not champ material. He is kind of like an Irish Gatti.
OK so I know I will piss a few people off this week but I am giving you another "non-conventional" Classic Lump. This is a tribute to one of the greatest Hockey Brawlers of all time, Tie Domi. I loved it when he would beat the crap out of someone and then pretend he just won the belt. You will see him do it in this clip. Even the fans were not safe from Tie! Enjoy.

Samuel Peter Prevails, Ken gets ShamRocked! Weekend Boxing Results

So Sam Peter took care of business on Saturday night against Oleg Maskaev. So is he "Da Man" in the heavyweight division? Larry Lump says not so fast, he's getting there but he got a few Klitschko's to take care of first, yes I said I few. The obvious next fight would be against Wladimir but in the bizarre world of boxing the WBC made pact with Vitali Klitschko that if he ever comes out of retirement his first fight can be for the title. What kind of BS is that? A guy who has not boxed since 2004 and has been retired since 2005 gets to leap frog all the current contenders and get a title fight right when he comes back? What a damn scam! Secondly, don't you think that Vitali would want a tune up fight or two before challenging the Heavyweight Champ? It's stupid in so many ways. I hope Peters smacks him silly. And if he does who do you think wins in a Wladimir Klitschko vs. Samuel Peter fight?

Klitschko wins because:
He has a 6 inch height advantage, 4 inch reach advantage, and an very strong jab. He also has some power and from watching the Peter fight the other night Sam can take a punch but still needs some serious defensive work (he got hit with some decent shots).

Peter wins because: He has great power, can take a shot, and Wladimir still fights scared and still might have a glass jaw. Peter probably has the psychological advantage because even though he lost in their first meeting he did send Klitschko to the canvas three times in the first fight.

Bottom line is it's up for grabs if and when it ever happens.

OK some quick MMA news. A few weeks ago a past his prime MMA "star" got his ass handed to him by some no name brand fighter in less than a minute. That fighter would be Bob Sapp. Well same crap happened this weekend when Ken Shamrock got KO'ed in the first round against the always dangerous Robert "Buzz" Berry. Shamrock has now lost 7 of his 8 last fights. Why do these leagues allow these guys to still compete? Is it all about the $$$ signs, do they ever think about the fighters health for half a second? The knuckle head fighters don't help matters either. They hit 35 or 40 years old and will always state "I am in the best condition of my life" Brotha please! A 25 year old Shamrock, Sapp, or Abbott will kick the ass of the 40 year old version any day of the week.

Oh PS I know you won't believe me but I actually first wrote on my Friday post that Peter was going to win by KO in the 6th, but for the first time ever for whatever reason I changed my prediction to a decision. Well it still counts as a win for the Lump man since I picked Peter. Yes I had a rough start on my picks at the beginning but your boy L Cubed has had a clean sheet for a while now.

Here are the rest of the weekend boxing results:
CANCUN, Mexico (AP)—Samuel Peter, Nigeria, stopped Oleg Maskaev, Russia, 6, to win the WBC heavyweight title; Nate Campbell, Tampa, Fla., outpointed Juan Diaz, Houston, 12, to win the IBF, WBA and WBO lightweight titles; Adrian Hernandez, mexico, stopped Gilberto Keb Baas, Mexico, 4, to win the NABF and WBC Continental Americas flyweight titles; John Ruiz, Chelsea, Mass., outpointed Jameel McCline, West Palm Beach, Fla., 12, in a WBC heavyweight eliminator.

Exotic Picks from Da Moose Man

Yo Lumpers,

The Moose Man just checked in with some easy money picks if you have the stomach for them. Read em' and weep, or enjoy....the cherse is yers!

L'Africane Thomas Mashaba has a primed-picked appointment tonight with the Injuns up in Connecticut, old veteran Cristobal Cruz from Mexico. This is a set up against a Cruz who can't punch, ain't a danger but possibly could go the distance.
Mashaba is tough and will hit this guy who should really pack it in.
Advance scouts say Cruz is no where near ready, dislikes the New England cold, and has been stuffin' the slots all week, along with the watered down margaritas at the casino. Since it may go the distance, it opens up a lot of action on this Cruz bum for body fluids, tooths, farts, drips & mucuus.
Here's an exotic not to be missed. Play a Tri-Fecta with three of the 5 above and clean up. The longer the fight goes, the better yer chance that the Mexican will deliver in his beating.

Samuel Peter vs. Oleg Maskaev will bring us haymakers...Weekend Fight Schedule

I got some easy money for you this weekend, I promise. Bet that Samuel Peter will throw a right hand before the end of round 3. Yes, I know it's a crazy bet and if you placed the same bet two weeks ago on Klitschko you would of LOST! But trust me he will and so will Maskaev.

We got some big hitters here but I still have a weird feeling it's going to go 12. Even though Sammy Baby hit the canvas three times in his last fight (and won) I am going to say he takes the decision. He is the only legit competition for Klitschko and if he seals the deal the rematch will have to be made. On the undercard we have Mr. Clinch himself Johnny Ruiz trying to make one more title run. This guy had way too many title fights and how he even was champ for a while just goes to show what a mess the heavyweight division is. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Peters wins, rematch with Klitschko, and the winner in Larry Lump's humble 'pinion, is the real heavyweight champ regardless of belts.

We also got cruiserweights, flyweights, and lightweight titles on the line this weekend as well. Lot's o' Action Ms. Jackson (I am for reaaaal).

Have a great Freakend boys and girls. Larry is gone with da wind....

Quinton Jackson vs. Forrest Griffen Announced! Classic Lump Wednesday

UFC fans get ready for a Real Deal Slobber Knocker on July 5th when Quinton Jackson puts his Light Heavyweight Belt on the line against crowd favorite Forrest Griffen. Let me tell ya, this one has the makings of a classic. These two cats can Bump N Lump with the best of them! Right now my nod goes to Jackson due to experience but I'm not making a pick on this one yet.

OK so I can't believe I have not posted this Classic Lump Yet. May 7th, 2005 Corrales vs. Castillo for the WBC and WBO Lightweight Titles. This was easily the fight of the year. Sadly "Chico" Corrales lost his life in a motorcycle accident exactly two years from the date of this classic. Rematches were made but Castillo did not make weight TWICE!
RIP Chico.

Weekend Fight Results. Vazquez vs. Marquez Trilogy. Lesnar's next opponent announced.

OK OK I will admit it right off the bat. I have not seen any of the Israel Vazquez/Rafael Marquez (Jeez names are pretty similar) fights. All I know is from what I read it was one of the best trilogies of all time. From what I also read the fight on Saturday night did not disappoint. I got a good excuse though. Besides the fact I don't get Showtime I had to be Big Daddy Lump Lump on Saturday. "Had" is the wrong word, me and my girl had a lot of fun hanging out.

I ALSO did not see the UFC PPV but we did get to find out who Brock Lesnar is going to fight next and when. Before I tell you let me just say that Dana White is really rolling the dice with Brock' career. Kimbo is getting spoon fed easy opponents right now and no one really seems to care. Of course he needs to step it up sooner or later but at least he is learning the business, building his confidence, while still winning over new fans. Even Bob Crapp I mean Bob Sapp was given a powder puff opponent last week and ended up earning $100,000 for his 55 second loss.

On the other hand Brock had to start off with an ex UFC heavyweight champ that is a submission specialist. He almost pulls off the win but gets submitted. Now he has another legit challenge when he meets Mark Coleman August 9th in Minn. Coleman, another past UFC and PRIDE champ is an old man now and way past his prime but he is a HUGE and savvy MMA vet. Bottom line is that this is not going to be a walk in the park for Brock. So what if he has another good showing but loses again? Then he is 0-2, the mystique is gone, and Dana got an ex WWE wrestler who is doubting his skills. Better pull this one off Brock, if not you might just bail on this MMA thing even though you really might of had a shot at being decent.
Two more things before I go. Check out the new BUMPnLUMP poll and don't forget to vote. Gave you a real brain teaser for this week! Secondly, readers I need your help. Comment, Comment, Comment! We got to build up this community. Larry Lump can only yap so much, Cousin Willy is always in trouble with the Po Po, and Moose only shows up on Fridays with his Exotic Picks. We need you to!!

Here are the rest of weekend fight results.

BOXING:

DAR-ES-SALAAM, Tanzania (AP)—Francis Cheka, Tanzania, stopped Hassan Matumia, Tanzania, 10, to win the vacant UBO Intercontinental middleweight title.

Tyson vs. Holyfield III? MMA coming to CBS, and it's not the UFC? Weekend Fight Schedule

Lumpy Lumps come out and Plaaaaay. Yoooooooooooooooooo what up kids? Time to do work son, do work! Your Boy Larry doesn't have any picks this weekend but I am sure Da Moose Man will find some underground exotics for you and your bookie to play.

Before we go over the fight schedule lets go over some interesting news over the last few days in both Boxing and MMA. It says a lot about the direction each of these sports is going.

Besides Floyd Mayweather participating in WrestleMania on March 30th we also found out that Evander Holyfield and Iron Mike Tyson are in discussions about fighting again. Haven't enough body parts been bitten off already? I'm not sure who looks more desperate in this situation. Mike is the obvious choice for these shenanigans, but now the Real Deal is going down this path as well? The crazy part is that if the promoters did this right they would probably get me to order this mess on PPV. First of all it can't be more than $19.99. Secondly they should have 3 fights in total, 2 legit fights with up and coming known names and then the old men can get it on in their 6-8 rounder. Reality of the matter is that if it does happen it will probably go for $45, have about 2 hours of pre show BS showing all old clips and then these two fools will go out and basically spar for 4 rounds. Neither will end up throwing any haymakers. The heavyweight division is a straight up SNAFU.

OK so on the other side of the coin does the UFC finally have some legit competition? CBS has just signed a deal with Elite XC, which is the league that is shown on Showtime and also where Kimbo Slice is contracted. The deal seems to state that CBS will air four 2 hour shows per year during Prime Time on Saturday nights. First show should take place in April and Kimbo will be the headliner. WOW. They actually got on network TV before the UFC, pretty impressive. I hope it works but in reality it is probably going to be a bust. Why?

1. MMA is hot, but it is still such a niche sport. 3-4 million viewers are great numbers for Cable or PPV but its just average ratings for a network show.
2. Other than Kimbo they really don't have any well known names.
3. Fight shows have basically been a bust on network TV and usually end up finding their place on basic cable. When is the last time you saw boxing on network TV? How about the Contender? Total flop when on NBC. WWE tried some shows on NBC as well and that failed.

I guess only time will tell.

The The that's all Lumps, L3 is Audi S5 (saw one of those rides this week, dope on a rope, and you bess not say nope!) Got check it out on the web. Here is your weekend fight schedule. Is that a Toney Tubbs fight I see on Saturday night?? Looks like Holyfield got a back up opponent if Mike gets arrested again! Also UFC got a PPV event on Saturday.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. the latest pro athlete appearing at WrestleMania. Wednesday's Classic Lump: Pro Boxer vs. Pro Wrestler

What would you do for $20 Million dollars?
Hardcore training for 3-4 months, and then box in a real match against a top opponent OR show up and fake a fight at Pro Wrestling's Super Bowl in a "match" that will probably last less than 15 minutes? Well Floyd Mayweather Jr. chose both options when he fought Ricky Hatton and then agreed to "wrestle" the Big Show at WrestleMania next month.
People are saying that this makes Floyd look like a fool, and someone who should not be taken seriously as a real boxer. Are you nuts!!! This does not tarnish his boxing record at all. It's one of the easiest (legal) ways anyone has used their fame to earn a quick 20 Mil in the history of the world! It's a no brainer, take the loot Floyd. But here are some points to consider.
1. Is Vince McMahon getting in over his head? That's a ton of coin to shell out. Wrestling has been struggling these days, is he really going to make it back on PPV buys?
2. Is Floyd really getting 20 Million or is it more Pro Wrestling phoniness to hype up the event?
I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. Even if Pretty Boy is making $5 Million it's a great deal for him.
3. I wonder how the Pro Wrestlers feel about this, will Floyd be welcomed into the fraternity or given the cold shoulder? Fake or not these guys bust their ass and put their bodies through hell. They are on the road for about 300 days a year and no one, I mean no one, is making that kind of ducketts, including the icon Hulk Hogan. I hope the Big Show throws some "welcome to big time" real smackdowns onto Floyd.
4. What is Floyd really going to do? A full blown match such as when LT fought Bam Bam Bigelow? Or is going to be a one punch appearance like Tyson and Stone Cold Steve Austin?

As for Willy's comparison of this to Mike Tyson appearing at a WrestleMania, well there is no comparison. Tyson was done with boxing, past his prime, and had serious financial issues. He HAD to do it. Floyd on the other hand is at the top of his game and due to his fame was spoon fed an offer he could not refuse. Once again a no brainer.

So lets talk about pro Athletes showing up at WrestleManias. What was your favorite match up? Mr. T vs Roddy Piper? LT vs. Bam Bam Bigelow? The Mike Tyson appearance? William "The Fridge" Perry? Larry Lump has a favorite. When Pete Rose got his butt handed to him by Kane three consecutive years. That was good stuff!

So here is a great transition to this weeks Classic Lump. At WrestleMania XV there actually was a legit boxing match between a "real" boxer and a WWE Wrestler. The event was a Tough Man Style competition called Brawl For All. Take a look at the finale and see how the Wrestler did against the Boxer when things got real.

Willy out of the drunk tank!!!

Here's a quick bonus post from my cousin Willy Lump Lump from Moncks Corner SC. He has been MIA for a while and decided to pop off a few comments. As for the Mayweather/WWE marriage I got some thoughts on that which I will save for tomorrow. Any one else want to chime in now go and get your groove on.....

Willy (Detox) Lump

Yooooo, I just got outta of the drunk tank! Your boy Willy is so fresh and so clean, clean…..

Back on the block your boy has been following his gigs on the boxin’ tip...and have to give a big congrats to Pavlik on the big win!

LLL, your boy “Money" Mayweather is getting into the WWE mix, and getting paid a hefty fortune to do it too. $20mil to do some acting against the “Big Show” What do you think of that?

Here is my question with all the acting that goes on prior to a fight, all the hype. As a serious fight fan can you take him serious anymore? He’s turning into a joke….This remind you of anyone? Iron Mike? It looks like he is following in his footsteps..

Thoughts?

Heavyweight Snore Fest at MSG and the rest of the weekend fight results

Ohh man I feel bad for the suckers who paid hundreds to thousands of dollars to see that stinker at MSG on Saturday. Wladimir Klitschko scored a unanimous decision over Sultan Ibragimov to unify the IBF and WBO belts. Your boy Larry Lump scored it 119-109 for Wladimir, almost a shut out except for the first round. All Klitschko did the entire night was slap down Sultans weak ass jab then throw a jab of his own. You kept waiting for him to cold cock him with the right hand but Wladimir threw his first right in the 5th round! Yes 4 straight round of boxing with only one hand and he won 3 of them. The crowd was booing, I was yawning, not good. Punch stats at the end of the fight had Klitschko landing 108 jab to ONLY 16 by Ibragimov!

So did this fight create any clarity in the heavyweight decision, absolutely not. To me it still seems like Klitschko is afraid to take a punch to the chin so he fights in a very defensive style. If there ever is a Sam Peter rematch I think he is in for a rough night.

OK had a chance to watch the Pavlik/Taylor fight in more detail. Winner is.....
Draw baby 114-114. I had Pavlik up 58-56 after the first 6 and I though Taylor had the same score for rounds 6-12. Man it was close. At the end of the day Pavlik was probably a bit busier and I really don't have an issue with him winning the fight but damn it was a hard ass fight to judge. Put it this way, judges only scored unanimously in rounds 1 and 11, every other round they were split.

In MMA news, Bob Crapp, I mean Sapp got TKO'ed in less than a minute against a guy who had a 1-5 MMA record. Another novelty fighter bites the dust. I heard some rumors that Pro Wrestler Kurt Angle wants to fight Randy Couture this year. What the hell is he smoking, Kurt will get destroyed!

See you cats on Wednesday with another classic lump.

Here are the rest of the fight results from the weekend.
