Cotto-Mosley and the winner is......

well, hmmm, let's see. Last week the older, faster, and more experienced guy (Calzaghe) beat the stronger, slower, younger guy (Kessler). Lo and behold this weekend we have another older, faster, and more experienced guy (Mosley) fighting another younger and more powerful opponent (Cotto). Same results then, right? Nope, I'm not buying it. Cotto TKO in the 8th. OK OK the Lump man is 0-2 but I really think it's Cotto's time to shine. Hey if I am wrong again then feel free to bust my chops, there's no shame in the Lump Lump's game. Next week more rants, reviews, Classic Lumps, and a special post on Tuesday, the 25th Anniversary of the Boom Boom Mancini-Duk Koo Kim fight. Have a great weekend, Uncle Lump is Audi A8.

Do you follow Italian boxers?

Two of the best I remember were Vito Antuofermo, the Barese Brawler and cute Nino Benvenuto, who may have been a Northern Mussolini type.

Did they ever square off or were they at different times & weights?

Yo Ange,

Vito fought in the 70's and 80's. He had some classic brawls with Marvin Hagler. Nino fought in the 60's. Both were middleweights but they never lumped each other up.

Hump-

Congrats on your first call. I'm now 3-3.

This is easy stuff. Just check out where these bums were the night before and you can pick a winner.
